December 6, 1949 – September 25, 2026
Samuel Enns, age 76, passed away on September 25, 2026. He was born on December 6, 1949.
Samuel shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Louise. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and many cherished memories.
Samuel deeply loved his family and especially treasured time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for music and proudly played the trumpet, sharing his talent at countless events and celebrations throughout the years.

Sam had a friendly inviting heart, and once he knew there was even a spark of enthusiasm for trumpet playing in someone, he’d make a way to play! Oompa band, Christmas services, and retirement band moments were a gift to me, thanks to Sam and his friendship. Meeting and getting to know Louise (and even meeting the notorious Fritz) were added blessing. Sam will be missed.
We so appreciated and connected with Sam through his love of music! Band practices, trumpet trios, ensembles etc. Sam was always willing to share his talent and bless others with his expressive music. Many hours of practice went into his performances. We always admired his gift and were so privileged to share this bond with him.
Our connection to Sam goes back to his early introduction to trumpet lessons when he was 10 or 11 years old. His desire was to become a good player so he could be part of a trumpet trio with Richard and Reuben. He accomplished that! Travelling and performing in several bands also gave us many precious hours together. We have lost a great friend!
I remember Sam from when I was a teenager and in my early 20’s, living with my family in Dalmeny. My recollections of him are that he was an unassuming, humble and gentle-natured man. I often went out to his farm with my dad to pick up delicious whole milk in our old metal milk can. As I recall, he was looking after a cow for my dad and the milk was a benefit we enjoyed. Our family attended Dalmeny Bible Church where Sam attended, and Sam was actively involved in music performances. He was an excellent trumpet player. Liz and I invited him to play a solo piece for our wedding (Trumpet Tune by Henry Purcell) to which he graciously agreed. We walked out of the sanctuary as a newly married couple to his trumpet solo, a special moment for us. Our condolences to the Enns family for their loss.
I had the pleasure of working with Sam in the show Blast From The Past. Sam would go overtime and give it his all to be the best that he could. I appreciated his love for the Music and the people that he worked with.
We are so sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. Roxanne had the pleasure of teaching both Darla and Jonathan. Randy played trumpet with Sam in the Dalmeny Community Band, Dalmeny Bible Church, and in Blast from the Past. Sam was always enthusiastic about using his gifts for his Saviour. We both enjoyed opportunities to visit with Sam and Louise. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with his dear family at this time.
We are so sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. We remember the times when our families were able to get together to visit, despite the distance. Our thoughts and prayers are with Louise and the family at this time.
Our sympathy and prayers for Louise and the rest of the family at the untimely passing of Sam,
Love Len & Hilda Tieszen
We were saddened to hear of Sam’s passing. We have many fond memories of times spent together as young married couples when we lived in Saskatchewan. We have special memories of Sam and Ron playing together on trumpet and trombone in various churches and events over those years. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Louise and family during this difficult time.
