Marjorie (Marge) Kehler
May, 1935 – Sept. 15, 2026
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25, 26)
Our mom, grandma, great grandma (Nana) was born in Rosthern, Sk. to Abram and Sarah Konrath. Her early years were spent in Carlton, then the family moved to Crooked River for a year, as her dad found work in the sawmill. The family moved to Saskatoon, where mom attended Mayfair School, then City Park Collegiate, where she graduated with top marks. Mom participated in many school activities, including captain of the basketball team.
Upon graduation, mom worked as a bank teller, then later in married life at Peavy Mart, and finally at Sears for 23 years. All of our appliances, electronics, tires, and most of our presents came from Sears. What a huge disappointment when Sears closed and mom lost her 15% discount.
Mom and dad were married on Sept. 4, 1954 at Mayfair Mennonite Church. They had known each other for years and attended youth group. Brenda was born in 1958, Glen in 1959, and Laurie in 1963.
In 1968, our family moved from Saskatoon to 80 acres, 6 miles south of Dalmeny. Mom enjoyed rural life, and always tended a huge garden. Immediately we became part of the Dalmeny fabric, with school, community, and especially Dalmeny Bible Church. Further moves for mom and dad included Dalmeny and Saskatoon.
When dad passed away in 2023, mom continued to live in Bethany Tower, until her health forced her to move twice in 2025, the last into Bethany Villa.
Mom was a person of quiet, deep faith. She accepted Jesus as her Saviour at the age of 7, recording that, “He took my sins away. I was very happy then.” Mom was very active in the church, helping in Space Cubs (weekly club for very young children), Hospitality Committee, Food Committee, and being part of the ladies’ group. Mom and dad served faithfully as deacons for years, visiting many people who needed encouragement.
Mom and dad complemented each other so well. Dad would invite people over, often on short notice, and would say, “We will just thin out the soup,” and mom would always have a delicious meal ready. Mom was a ‘Dorcas’ from the Bible, full of kindness and generosity.
Mom enjoyed playing games with friends and family. Games included card games, ping pong, and crokinole. Once mom and dad faced each other in a crokinole final with mom winning. She said dad let her win, but we were not convinced of that. The prize – a watermelon!
We mourn losing our mom, but rejoice she is in heaven with Jesus and dad.
Left to survive are daughter Brenda (Greg) Guarnett, Glen (Kelly) Kehler, Laurie (Cal) Fehr; grandchildren Sara, Jonathan, Jarett (Jay), Kayla (Mark), Lukas (Kiara), Tyson (Hannah); great grandchildren Padan, Jacey, Abner, Eve, Henry, Simeon, Ainsley, Addy, Oliver, and Jasper.
We would like to thank the staff at RUH, Dr. Viden, and the staff at Bethany Villa for the compassionate care given to mom.
A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Bethany Fellowship Centre, 110 La Ronge Rd, Saskatoon (Entrance 110).

I am so sorry to hear of Marge’s passing. Marge and my mom, Eileen, are cousins, and mom shared many memories of them over the years.
Mom and dad took us out to visit in Delmany and I think of them every time I drive by the community. I fondly remember the many times mom would take me to Sears and that always included a stop to see if Marge was working and say hello. I’ve always hoped she was working when we stopped. She was a warm, kind person.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family……Lisa Graff
Aunt Marj achieved her wings to join her husband, brother and parents, when she worked at sears, she buy mittens and gloves for Christmas, or uncle Tom and aunt Marj would give us a card with some money to spend foolishly on ourselves, They would make homemade ice-cream, my favorite, play billiards in their basement, drive the lawn tractor, even his old farm truck, his boat, we would go on drives to Fort Carlton, climb the mountain hill to the cross dozens of times during family gatherings, cross a log foot bridge, so many memories over 56 years, we always had fun, aunt Marj was a strong, courageous woman, sister, daughter, mom, aunt, we were trying to get together prior to my cancer diagnosis, after my last surgery, one last visit in a setting with no agenda, just one aunt and two nephews, almost made this special occasion, my last memory of aunt marj was a celebration of life for my parents 2023, when she entered the room, life felt lighter not so dark, I am saddened to loose my aunt Marjorie, but know she is in a happy place, her golden wings with her family watching over her earth family and friends, I’m will always be grateful to be her nephew, now she gets to finally meet my brother Clinton and my little sister Hope and they get to know their aunt, miss you, love you 🕊️

With tremendous sadness when we heard of Marge’s passing. We have great memories of Marge (and Tom Kehler) over the past 37+ years.
38 years ago, we came to Saskatoon from China as international students. Soon after we landed, the U of S assigned a host family to us to assimilate us into Canadian culture and to help break the language barrier faster and easier. Tom and Marge Kehler became our host family from then onward, and since then, we have become closest friends.
Over the years, we have learned massively from both Tom and Marge in many aspects. Their sincerity and honesty have always been examples to us. We are also impressed by (and certainly became our life standards) their personal integrity, hard working, love of the community, love on family and kids, and so on and so forth.
Thank you, Marge (and Tom) for the friendship over the years. We miss you, Marge (and Tom) dearly. May you rest in peace.
