Harold Arneson
March 14, 1931 – July 14, 2026
Harold passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on July 14, 2026.
He is survived by June, his loving wife of 72 years; his daughters Terry Thulien (Milton) and Lori Durksen (Wayne); four grandchildren: Kelly Janzen (Rick), Kyle Thulien, Chelsea Peters (Eric), and Shayla Hopkins (Reid); as well as nine great grandchildren: Jayce Janzen, Jaryn Lewis (Seth), Ayden Janzen, Jake and Max Peters, Ivy, Otto, Faye and Cal Hopkins. He is also survived by his sister Ann Schwandt, and in-laws Calvin and Glenda Myers, and Myrna Foster. Also remembering his life are Harold’s many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harold is predeceased by his parents Emil and Cora Arneson and his bother Ken.
Harold was born at Bulyea, Saskatchewan on March 14, 1931. He took his education in Strasbourg and started working at the Co-op store at age 18. As a young man Harold loved playing ball, sometimes matched against his father-in-law. Harold completed an accounting program, which led to his life as a businessman managing Co-op stores throughout Saskatchewan, living in Bulyea, Strasbourg, Fillmore, Foam Lake, Maple Creek, and Eston. Harold also worked in accounting at Rosthern, and spent 10 years in the hail insurance business (Hepburn, Moose Jaw, and Saskatoon). Harold and June made life-long friends everywhere they lived. He enjoyed golfing, curling, and watching baseball and fastball. He was involved in various community organizations, from the Fillmore Lions Club to the Eston Ball Club.
Retiring at age 60, Harold had many years to enjoy visiting family, traveling to Arizona and Florida, cheering for the Blue Jays, playing table games, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and just relaxing along with June in the company of his family and many friends.
Harold loved the Lord and built his life around his faith in Jesus Christ. His greatest hope and prayer was that others would also know the love and salvation of Christ. As a couple, Harold and June found wonderful churches everywhere they lived. They enjoyed many years of Bible Study with special friends at the Lawson Heights Alliance church.
Harold wanted to thank his doctor, Cyprian Enweani, for his many years of care.
A family gathering was held in Harold’s honour on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Preston Park Chapel.

I have many memories of running into you at different things and your husband and you were always so friendly.
