Joseph “Joe” Vinter

April 15, 1936 – February 20, 2025

Joe Vinter died peacefully on Thursday February 20,2025 at the age of 88 years after a brief journey with cancer.

He was born on the farm in the Floradale District to Karel and Olga Vinter.  Joe attended the Floradale country school until grade 6 and then helped out on the family farm.

In retirement, Joe enjoyed early morning coffee at McDonald’s or at the mall with his coffee buddies.  Once he moved to Hyde Park View condo, Joe enjoyed chatting in the lobby with other residents or visitors as they came and went.

Joe is survived by his children Shannon and Colin, sisters Ruth Jersak, Neomi (Aldrich) Novotny, sister-in-law MaryAnne Brenan, brother-in-law Jim Marcine, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, parents Karel and Olga Vinter, in-laws Jake and Rose Dyck, brother-in-law Joe Jersak, and sister-in-law Susan Marcine.

So sorry to here of Joe’s passing. We have so many wonderful memories of Joe from many years ago in the Floradale district when he was our neighbor, bus driver, co-worker and good family friend. His many acts of kindness, caring and gentle ways will always be remembered.

Thank you Martin family. Dad shared many memories of life on the farm as you mentioned. He often referred to his time working with Triple M Construction and would mention the plaque for 15 years of dedicated service that he was given before Mom and Dad moved to Saskatoon.

    Dear Shannon, dear Colin
Sincere and heartfelt condolences on the passing of your Dad, and may you be comforted in knowing that he suffers no more but rests in the arms of our Saviour, Lord Jesus.
I am very sorry I could not attend in person but I did follow online. It brought back treasured memories of your Dad, and also of your Mom, visits at your farm, and of so many other people that are no longer with us.
Hope you have peace, the one that only God can give.
    Take care,
    Love,
    Jaroslav Jelinek
(the youngest cousin of your Grandma Rose)

Thank you Jaroslav for your comments and for following along online. Dad enjoyed visiting with you when you came to the farm and also in Saskatoon at the family gatherings.
