Kathy was born to Daniel & Pearl Ada Weigel on November 30, 1957 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1977 Kathy married Reginald Gizen. In the 46 years Kathy & Reg were married, they lived in Saskatchewan and British Columbia, in search of a better life for their family. In 2019, Kathy & Reg moved back to Saskatchewan after Kathy’s cancer diagnosis, so that they could live comfortably in their retirement era.

Kathy was a passionate soul who found solace and creativity in the art of knitting, crocheting, and baking. Her hands wove intricate patterns and her kitchen filled with the sweet aroma of freshly baked treats, embodying the essence of love and care she poured into every stitch and recipe.
Family was at the center of Kathy’s life. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, whether it was through cozy evenings at home or in the midst of lively family gatherings. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love created a haven where laughter, stories, and memories flourished. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and creativity that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

My heartfelt condolences to Kathy’s family and friends. I had not seen Kathy in many years, but It is comforting to see what a wonderful life, filled with love and joy Kathy enjoyed. Kathy can now join her loved ones in heaven. My parents Ralph and Marlene Barclay (nee Weigel) will be in line to welcome Kathy to paradise.

It took me a while to be able to add my thoughts as none can explain what loss to our family and the world it is now that your flame of life has extinguished.
Miss you so much and I will help heal Reg’s heart as I can.
