Ernest Krahn

June 26, 1934 – October 31, 2023

Our beloved husband, dad, grandfather (Bapa), and great grandfather went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, October 31. He leaves his wife, Annabelle, his daughter Glenda (Dave Atamanchuk), Brad (Gayle nee: Thiessen), Michelle (Andrew Krahn), 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who will all miss him immensely. He also leaves a legacy of children who had the privilege of having Mr. Krahn as their teacher in various schools in Saskatoon and a couple of years in Ontario. His summers and retirement years were filled with volunteering at various Bible camps as “Mr. Fixit,” and that volunteer work cheerfully continued at Haggai Institute in Hawaii, Fairhaven Ministries in BC, and at Bethany College in Saskatchewan. For many years he taught the adult Koinonia Sunday School Class and later was the favorite grandpa who babysat kids at the mom’s program. When his physical health limited his opportunities, he continued to serve God by grading Bible courses which also included praying for and encouraging prisoners through Gospel Echoes.

Ernie Krahn was born June 26, 1934 in Kindersley, SK and was raised on a farm in Glenbush. He gave his life to Jesus as a boy and made the decision to be baptized at age 17. He graduated from Bethany Bible Institute and after numerous jobs in Saskatoon and in BC, he decided to go to teacher’s college and graduated with his Bachelor of Education in 1963 .

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Forest Grove Community Church in Saskatoon with refreshments to follow. To watch the live stream please click on the link below.

Mr. Krahn was my vice principal in my first school as well as a friend and special person while we taught Children’s Church at Circle Drive Alliance Church. I have very fond memories of him. He was always a giver and a true support. I was sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences and prayers go out to his wife and family.
