Helen Bueckert

December 21, 1928 – January 27, 2022

Helen Bueckert peacefully passed away on January 27, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

Mom was born on December 21, 1928.  She married Dad (Chris) on September 29, 1946.  To this union 5 kids were born, Helen, Sarah, Hank, Liz and Annette.

In 1962 Mom and Dad went to a Barry Moore Crusade where they gave their lives to Christ.  From then on their love for the Lord grew and grew.  Jesus became the most important thing in their lives.  Our family always loved music.  Many family get together always included music.  Our home was always open to everyone.

One of our fondest memories is Christmas – Oh how excited we would get.  We would put up bowls on the kitchen table, each wanting the biggest bowl, thinking that the bigger the bowl, the bigger the present.  We would always get some candy, nuts and an orange as well, we all treasured these. Later this turned into candy bags, which was dad’s job to make.

Another special memory was our devotion and prayer time every night before going to bed.  Dad would read from the Bible and then we would all kneel down and we each would pray out loud.  Sometimes grandma and grandpa were there and then grandpa prayed first, then grandma, dad, mom, Helen, Sarah, Hank, Liz and Annette. I confess that I often fell asleep by the time my turn came but someone would poke me to wake me up.

Another special memory was when we would have sword drills.  Our swords were our Bibles and we would hold them up in the air, Mom would say “Charge” and then whoever found the passage first would get a small square of a chocolate bar.  Mom could make a chocolate bar go a long way, I confess I got my share of chocolate.  We also remember on pay day, when dad would bring home either KFC or take us all to A&W for corney dogs and root beer – This was a very special treat.

Even though we never had much money we did have lots of love.  Thanks mom for all the years of loving us.  I know you are now enjoying the most wonderful reward! Thanks Mom! Love you Mom – See you soon.

Helen (Mom) is predeceased by her husband Chris on February 25, 1999; daughter Annette on Sept 9, 1992; her parents Pete and Gertie Hiebert; 2 brothers John and Abe; 2 sisters Susie and Gertie; son-in-law Pete Fehr; grandson-in-law Curtis Heinrichs; great grandson Johnathan.  She leaves behind Helen (Norman) Mantler, Sarah (Abe) Harder, Hank (Julie) Bueckert, Liz Fehr and John Michalenko; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; as well as over 500 foster children.

A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny SK with interment to follow at the Dalmeny Bible Church Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.

    To Helen’s family,
We are sorry for your loss.
Marg has fond memories of your mother from the time that she, and a fellow classmate from the Bible College, conducted a Children’s Bible Club in your home. Your mother was always so kind and welcoming to everyone. Your parents were great examples of Godly servants.
May God be your comfort in this time of sorrow.
    Sincerely,
    Marg and Don Stiller
