Gail Mantyka

Gail Mantyka (nee Schmidt)

November 9, 1957 – December 14, 2021

Gail Ann Mantyka passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 14th, 2021 at RUH after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer.

Gail was pre-deceased by her parents Robert & Mabel Schmidt.  She is survived by her husband Dan of 48 years, children Tammy (Trevor) Glynn, Carrie (Victor) Dutkiewicz, Danny (Tara) Mantyka and five grandchildren, Brayden, Madison, Kalem, Hudson and Abigail. Also, brother Brian (Ellen) Schmidt.

Gail took great pride in her family and she enjoyed being part of the community.

Her love for antiques and coffee shop visits allowed her not only the time but also the place to chat with others about what meant the most to her… her children and grandchildren.

Gail will be remembered for her creativity and love of seasonal decorating and her beautiful yard.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shahid Ahmed and his team for their help and support during Gail’s journey. A Celebration of Gail’s Life will be held in the early Summer of 2022.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breast Cancer Society of Canada.

Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.

Our sincere condolences to all. I have such fond memories of Gail in her coffee shop. She also came into Creekside often, “just to see what was new” was her comment. We will miss her laugh and I will miss all her seasonal displays as I drive home. Take care.

Dan, Tammy, Carrie, Dan and families,

We are so sorry to hear of Gail’s passing. She was a valued member of the Delisle community, so many hours spent at the rink when our kids were young – whether a figure skating carnival she was helping to coordinate and by cheering on at hockey/ball games she was always supporting her family in activities they were involved in. She will be misssed dearly. We are thinking of you all. Please take good care of each other in the days and weeks to come – one at a time.

Wayne, Debbie, Brandy, Dustin and family
