Betty (Elizabeth) Willems

Betty (Elizabeth) Willems

June 20, 1931 – December 10, 2021

It is with great sadness and eternal hope that we announce the passing of Betty Willems on December 10, 2021. Betty was born in Hawarden, Saskatchewan on June 20,1931. She was the third child born to Jacob and Louise Boldt. She grew up in Hepburn, Saskatchewan where she made many friends, some lifelong. Betty’s father was a business owner and later purchased Boldt’s Farm Equipment and then her father, brother John and husband Dan went into farming together. She attended Bethany Bible Institute where she met Dan, the love of her life. Together they raised their family of five children in the community of Hepburn. Betty was very active caring for five children as well as helping anyone in need, often arriving with some of her baking and meals, always ready to help. Her love of life with her twinkling blue eyes and laughter brightened the lives of many people as she shared her love so readily. She loved music and could play the piano by ear and accompanied Dan in a male quartet for years. After the sale of their farm, Betty and Dan enjoyed years volunteering with many nonprofit organizations locally and in the southern United States. Betty will always be remembered as a fun loving, active, selfless person with a strong love for her husband, family and friends. Her faith in God was reflected in her life as she was always busy helping others and loving them.

Betty is survived by her sister Mary Jantzen; her children Rodney (Adeline) Willems, Judy (Tim) Adams and Laurie Makaroff; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three grand daughters, Sarah, Rachel and Ashley Willems, her husband Daniel and sons Donald and Brian.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Forest Grove Community Church. Click on the link below to watch the live stream of the Funeral Service.

Your mom and grandma Betty was such a kind, friendly and spunky, funny lady. We always enjoyed her company. We got to know Adam and Betty so well through the years of Kristi and Danielle’s birthdays, graduations etc. as they grew up. We will always remember that mischievous twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes. Our prayers are with you at this time.
