Chantale was my dearest friend growing up. She will always have a special place in my heart. She was always full of energy, a great friend, made me laugh, had the most beautiful voice, and had the kindest soul. I will always remember the good times we had and the memories we shared. Florence, Guy and Darcy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you can find some peace in knowing the positive impact she had on many of us and how dearly she was loved.

I am very sorry that your dearest Chantale has passed away. I met Chantale in St. Paul’s Hospital during 2017 when my 87-year old mother was in hospital. She and Chantale were hospital roommates for 1 or 2 weeks. During that short time, Chantale made a positive impression on me. She and I led vastly different lifestyles and likely would never have crossed paths otherwise but there was something about this quirky girl that I liked, so much so, that after my mother was discharged we both went back to see Chantale in hospital for a visit, and my mom gave her one of her stuffed frogs since Chantale loved them so much.

Chantale and I did keep in contact for about 1 year or so, communicating via email and saw each other once in person. She had a vibrancy to her and much love for life. Even though she was a spaz at times, which I affectionately called her and with much respect, she was a smart cookie. She was very articulate with the printed word, and I enjoyed conversing with her. I am even fortunate enough to possess a couple pieces from her jewellery line which I bought from her when she was starting to get her biz going again in S’toon after her time down East.

Even though she may have had setbacks and hard times, she never gave up, she always kept trying.

My Mom died Oct 18, 2020 just a few days before Chantale. My deepest sympathy and compassion are with you the family, and with her friend Steve. It’s terribly hard.

And remember, don’t judge a book by it’s cover as you never know what’s inside.

Mes sincères condoléances à la famille.

I knew Chantale in high school and kept in touch a few years after that. I’m so sad to hear of her passing. I remember her beautiful voice, but mostly her kindness. The world is a bit less vibrant without her in it.
