Ann Gossen

March 26, 1944 – August 9, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ann Gossen announce her passing on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the age of 76. Ann was born on March 26, 1944 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan to her parents Peter and Anna Ens.  Along with her 4 siblings, she grew up in the village of Neuanlage, Saskatchewan, and often shared many memories with her children and grandchildren of her childhood there. On March 9, 1974, Ann married Maynard Gossen of Langham, Saskatchewan. Langham is where they resided, raised their children, and have enjoyed their grandchildren for the past 46 years.

Ann was an incredible bowler in her younger years, loved to curl, volunteered with Girls Club at the Langham Zoar Mennonite Church, and always had a pot of coffee on. Her friends would gather at her kitchen table almost daily for coffee and a visit. She was known for her quiet demeanor, caring heart and generosity. Ann was always willing to help out and quick to smile. She worked may jobs including the Corner Store in Hague for many years, a bakery in Saskatoon, the Langham Post Office, a Langham grocery store and at the Langham Care Home where she made many friends, some of whom looked after her lovingly until she passed.

In the past 10 years, Ann suffered from vascular dementia. In 2018 they moved into the Langham Care Home, where they made many friends with the residents, as well as the staff.  Ann was known for her smiles and loved to give hugs to everyone. Ann’s children and grandchildren were her whole world, and she will always be lovingly remembered by them all.She always had time for them all, kisses, hugs, smiles and always a compassionate heart. She will be deeply missed.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband Maynard Gossen of 46 years in Langham, SK, their 3 children, Robert (Michelle) Gossen in Kelowna, BC, Cindy Gossen in Langham, SK and Christie Gossen in Wakaw, SK. Her 7 grandchildren, Darren, Brittany, Cody, Justin and Logan Mierau in Langham, SK and Micheal and Nicholas Klassen in Wakaw, SK. Her brother Pete (Verna) Ens in Neuanlage, SK and sister Helen Klassen in Le Crete, AB, as well as many in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna (Krahn) Ens, her siblings Ben Ens, Tina Quiring, an infant sister,  and brothers-in-law Henry Klassen, John Quiring, and sister-in-law Tena Ens. She was also predeceased by many beloved relatives of the Krahn, Gossen, and Stahl families.

The family of Ann would like to thank every staff member of the Langham Care Home for their compassion, hugs and care they gave to Ann the past 2 years, and especially as she started to decline in the last months.  We always knew she was being well taken care of, especially during the pandemic, when we couldn’t be there. We, as a family, can’t begin to show or express our appreciation and gratitude to you all.

Memorial donations can be made to the Langham Care Home, Box 287, Langham, SK, S0K 2L0. A come and go viewing open to everyone, will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny SK. A private family graveside service will take place at Langham Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to DALMENY FUNERAL HOME 306-254-2022.
