Family Owned, Family Focused

Katherine (Ens) Andres

Katherine (Ens) Andres

January 5, 1943 – April 9, 2020

Kathy passed away peacefully on April 9, 2020 at the age of 77.  She was known for her hospitality, laughter, sense of fun, and love of family and friends.  Kathy was lucky enough to have been married for almost 56 years to her best friend.  She was particularly delighted with her grandchildren and liked nothing better than to watch them do what they loved to do.  She was dedicated to serving her church family and establishing supportive friendships with newcomers to our country.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her family: husband Len; son Nolan (Margaret, Zoe, Thea, and Kira); son Byron (Rachel and Arrowynn); daughter Crystal (Chris, Levi, and Benjamin); as well as siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank St. Pauls emergency team and the neurology team at RUH for the care they gave Kathy during and after her diagnoses with terminal brain cancer in January.  Also heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Transitional Care Unit at City Hospital and St. Ann’s long term care home, for the tender way in which they cared for Kathy’s comfort in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to the Cancer Research Society or a charity of your choice.

You are welcome to join Kathy’s family remotely, for a memorial service celebrating her life. Recognizing that gatherings cannot be held at this time, the service will be live-streamed on YouTube on Wednesday, April 22, at 11 am CST. A link to the service will be available at http://kathy.andresfamily.org, a website set up in Kathy’s memory.

Arrangements entrusted to Stefan Funk at DALMENY FUNERAL HOME 306-254-2022, www.dalmenyfuneralhome.ca.
