Mary Magdolena Meister (nee Sackvie)
March 20, 1922 – May 29, 2019
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mary Magdolena Meister on May 29, 2019, at the age of 97. Born in Jansen, SK on March 20, 1922, the second of 12 children of August and Pauline Sackvie.
Mary embraced a solid Christian faith at an early age and she never waivered.
She married the love of her life, Alfred on July 31, 1948 and became a farmwife which she cherished greatly.
Lovingly and tenderly she and Alfred raised three children, David, Janet, and Verne.
Her faith in her Lord Jesus was #1 in her life. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, playing board and card games, and gardening among other pastimes.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Alfred; her parents August and Pauline Sackvie; mother and father-in-law Otto and Emma Meister; four brothers, Henry, Bill, Ted and Werner; three sisters, Linda, Elsie and Doreen, grandbaby Jesse Norton, and other relatives on both sides of the family.
She is survived by one brother, Erwin; and 3 sisters Olga, Martha and Elaine. She is also survived by her three children David (Judith), Janet (Gary), and Verne; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Service for Mary will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Radisson St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 Albert Street, Radisson SK. Interment to follow at the Radisson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mary requested that donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 Albert Street Radisson, SK, S0K 3L0 and the Langham Care Home,Box 287 , Langham, SK, S0K 2L0.
