    Dear Anne,

So sorry to read this news.

I remember your mother from back in our childhoods when we were taking piano lessons at the MacNay house and, in later years, when I would fill in at the organ at Trinity and St. Paul’s. A dear lady, ever cheerful and encouraging, generous and gracious.

I was so sad to hear of Mary’ s passing. She was such wonderful lady. Mary supported me as a new teacher in Wiarton. I was Anne’s teacher and Mary was instrumental in getting updated reading material for the classroom. My condolences go to the family. My prayers are with the family at this time.

Dear Anne and your family, So very sad to hear about Mary passing. Ashley had emailed me. Mary was always such a wonderful dear friend to my mother Florence Trist – they had a long and lovely friendship. They would talk to each other like they were right back in High School together in Wiarton. I have very fond memories of Mary and enjoyed her sense of humour! Sending sympathy wishes from my family and my parents too.

My favourite memory of your mom was when we went out to Cathy Rugg’s acreage to pick raspberries and have tea. She loved picking the berries and being in the country Your mom was an engaging conversationalist and we enjoyed our afternoon immensely.

The only interaction I ever had with Mary was when I was very sick in hospital as a lonely, lost teenager. Mary took exceptional care of me, coming to check on me as her first stop when she started every shift. I will never forget her kindness. Even last week I was telling my brother this story and how caring Mary was. She was an amazing, gentle woman. My thoughts are with her loved ones.
