Mary Janzen
February 11, 1927 – August 25, 2020
Mary Janzen answered the call of her Lord and Master on August 25, 2020 at the age of 93. Mary was born to Nickolai and Justina Thiessen on February 11, 1927 in Winnipeg. She attended school in Manitoba and Alberta, followed by three years of Bible school in Coaldale where she attended church with the family. Mary accepted Christ as her Saviour at age 9. She was baptized in the Coaldale M.B. church at age 16, joined the church and was a faithful and active member wherever she went.
Mary married Clarence Janzen in September of 1966. They made their home in Saskatoon and joined the West Portal M.B. church where she was a member until she passed away.
Mary leaves to mourn her brother Jake Thiessen, sister Martha Dick, brother Rudy Thiessen, sister Lydia Danyluk, nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence, in 2007, her parents Nicolai and Justina Thiessen, brother Nick Thiessen, sister Helen Thiessen, sister Kathy Reimer, and brother Ben Thiessen.
We sorrow, but not without hope; we will see her again in Glory.
The family is grateful to the staff at Bethany Manor, who cared for Mary and went the extra mile to make it possible for her to stay there until the end of her life.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at West Portal Church, 3134 33rd Street West, Saskatoon, SK on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Ralph Gliege speaking. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International. Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home.

Mary was such a wonderful person.She loved to gave a good laugh. I have many fond memories of the many times she spent organizing/ helping organize skits for different functions for the seniors of West Portal Church.
She will be dearly missed.
