Dalton Henry Robinson

May 11, 1931 – March 2, 2020

Dalton Henry Robinson was born into a farming community on May 11, 1931. The youngest of five children born to Gordon and Hazel Robinson in Delhi Ont. The doctor charged $17.50 to come out and assist. Most of his younger years were spent working on Dad’s farm as well as working on the farms of other family members. Attended a small country school of about 28-30 students.  They would all receive new bib overalls in Sept to last them the 10 months of school. It was 4 years of school before hydro came to the building. In approximately 1943 dad started to attend the Courtland Fellowship Baptist Church a couple year later he was saved in the North Broadway Baptist Church and later baptized. Dad and his brother Harley spent a number of years working together at Firestone when Harley left to go and work at the Bethesda Hospital in Willowdale. There were many young women being trained as nurses with the hope of going to the mission field. Harley invited dad for a visit and it was there that he met Kay.  In Dad’s words the matron was a spinster who took her responsibility to keep all her young charge in check and she was quite concerned that Kay was talking with this man and wanted to know all the details. In Feb of 1955 they were married in the Abbotsford Pentecostal Church. Dad attended the Bethel Bible Institute in Saskatoon for three years. He then started working at Intercontinental Packers ltd until retirement. Much of their life was spent raising their children and travelling. Dad leaves behind a wife of 65 years, a daughter Saralie her husband Al, a son Leonard and a second son James and his wife Michelle. Of his brothers and sister only Harley and Claudine still survive. There are many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kay and family, we were saddened to hear of Dalton’s passing. You and your family will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers. We have good memories of Dalton and will miss his “words of wisdom”. We are out of country right now; we’ll be in contact when we get back.

Dear Kay, Saralie, Leonard, and James…I am so saddened to hear of Dalton’s passing…He is at Home with the Lord, but our sadness is real. Dalton is always remembered by me with warm and gentle thoughts…your family was generous and kind, providing me with board and room and friendship. I can not thank you sufficiently. May the Lord bless and comfort and keep you all in His love and care.
