Evelyn Reimer (nee Warkentin)

July 23, 1931 – September 17, 2019

Evelyn Ann Reimer (nee Warkentin) was called home by her Lord and Saviour on September 17, 2019 at the age of 88 years, surrounded by her family. Our hearts are saddened at the loss of our wonderful mother, but we know how much Evelyn longed to join Ken, her husband of 63 years. We are glad they have been reunited in heaven. Evelyn was always smiling and truly delighted in life and in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She loved music and could spontaneously burst into song at any moment – especially if something you said reminded her of a particular song. She loved to play the accordion and the piano. She also played her guitar to accompany sing-alongs with her fellow residents at Pineview Manor, where she lived up until her death. Evelyn was a loving and nurturing mother to her four sons: Blair, Brian (Rena), Brent (Brenda) and Bruce (Sheena) and her 5 grandchildren, Dwight, Eleah, Brooklyn, Yllah and Ynnah. She also leaves behind her brother Bill (Myrtle) Warkentin, Lewis (Mary) Warkentin, Ben (Joy) Warkentin and sisters Shirley Peters and Lynda (Les) Headrick along with numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Ken Reimer, father Cornelius Warkentin in 1933, her mother Helen Pauls in 1992 and her brother Cornelius Warkentin, sister-in-law Eunice Warkentin and brother-in-law Rudy Peters. A viewing will be held at Dalmeny Funeral Home, on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Dalmeny Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Lunch will be served following the service at the Dalmeny Senior Centre. Interment will follow at the Glenbush Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery at 3:30p.m. In honour of Evelyn, memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International or the charity of one’s choice.
