Family Owned, Family Focused

Helena (Helen) Peters

Peters, Helena (Helen)

August 12, 1923 – September 3, 2019

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Helen Peters of Saskatoon. Mom was the oldest of 16 children born to Jacob C. and Helena P. Fehr of Neuanlage, SK. She married Jacob Peters on November 28, 1943, and they were married for 57 years.  She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob, daughter Caroline, son Timothy, and grandson, Jason. She will be dearly missed by children Helene (Melvin) Snatinski, Menno (Anne), Mary Anne McDonald, Leslie (Lorraine), Naomi (Bob) Wolfe, Jerold (Rosalie Flynn), Barbara (Russ) Deptuch, and Jeffrey; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild. Her family were first in her life and her love showed in all she did for them. She took great pleasure in seeing her yard filled with flowers, her garden, cooking large meals for family get-togethers, and the perennial summer wiener roasts. She loved to share her rich family history and her young years growing up in the village with others resulting in creating lifelong friends. She kept her belief in the resurrection a focus in her life and looked forward to the day when there will be no more hardships and death (Rev. 21: 3, 4). A viewing will be held at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny, SK, at 7:00 pm. on Monday, September 9, 2019. A private family interment will take place in Neuanlage Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, with a Memorial Service to be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 415 Fairmont Drive, Saskatoon, SK at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements in care of DALMENY FUNERAL HOME (306-254-2022)
