Verna Wasmuth

March 23, 1942 – April 6, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Verna Velma Wasmuth on April 6, 2019 in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. Verna was born to Isaac and Agnes Boehr on March 23, 1942 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Verna was the oldest of 5 siblings, growing up in the Westmount area of Saskatoon. As a young woman, she moved to North Battleford to work as a telephone switchboard operator. It was here that she met her future husband, Cecil Wasmuth. They were married on May 28, 1966 and together raised 3 children in the Saskatoon area. Verna was a stay at home mom, even homeschooling the 3 boys for a time.  In her spare time, Verna enjoyed doing needle work, candle making, and other crafts. She often travelled with Cecil both for work and vacation. Verna found relaxation and peace in gardening and reading. Verna is lovingly remembered by her husband Cecil; her children Clint (Natalie) Wasmuth, Calvin (Andrea) Wasmuth, and Randy (Melanie) Wasmuth; 6 grandchildren Benjamin, Kaylee, Landon, Christopher (Kara), Matthew, and Nick; and 1 very special greatgrandchild Kristen. Brothers Elmer Boehr, Larry (Sandra) Boehr, and Wayne (Bev) Boehr, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Verna was predeceased by her parents Isaac and Agnes Boehr and her sister Emily Boehr. Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm, on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Radisson, SK.
