Gerald Danial Wildeman
January 16, 1957 – August 19, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Danial Wildeman on August 19, 2026, at the age of 69.
Gerald was born on January 16, 1957, in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, to Ruth and Danial Wildeman.
Gerald was a lifelong sports fan, with a special love for hockey. In his younger years, he played hockey as a goalie, and his passion for sports stayed with him throughout his life. Some of his favourite times were spent watching and talking sports with his son, Andrew. The two were incredibly close and shared a special bond through their love of hockey, football and golf. Whether they were watching a game together, talking about their favourite teams, or spending time on the golf course, sports gave father and son countless memories together.
Gerald was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his willingness to lend a hand, and his dedication to helping his friends and family in any way he could. If someone Gerald cared about needed something, he was always willing to help.
When he wasn’t watching sports, Gerald loved being outside and working in his yard. He took great pride in it and was happiest when he had something to work on outdoors. He also loved cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders with Andrew and spending time with his three dogs, Coco, Bruin and Rufus, who were an important part of his life.
Gerald was predeceased by his mother, Ruth; his father, Danial; and his brother, Wayne.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving son, Andrew; his sisters, Karen and Murial; his brothers, Ken, Richard and Mel; as well as his extended family and the many friends he made throughout his life.
Gerald will be remembered for his humour, his generosity, his love of sports and animals, and above all, the love he had for the people closest to him. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories, laughs and time spent together will never be forgotten.

I have nothing but great memories of my Uncle Gerald growing up. Whether I was helping him in his garage, counting the change he had from delivering milk, or watching a hockey game together, he was always kind and welcoming. He is someone I will always remember.
He will be missed.

Uncle Gerald will always be remembered for the incredible memories and good times we shared. I’ll always look back fondly on playing hockey and skateboarding in the backyard with Andrew and Gerald, sharing a beer or two, watching sports, and spending countless hours laughing together.
He was a caring, kind, and genuinely helpful guy who was always there for the people around him. Gerald had a way of making every moment more enjoyable (especially with his sense of humour) and I’ll always be grateful for the memories and laughter he gave us.
Rest easy, Uncle Gerald. You’ll be missed more than words can say, but you’ll never be forgotten.
