Lawrence Matchee

February 27, 1947 – August 14, 2026

Lawrence Matchee, age 79, of Warman, SK passed away on August 14, 2026, at Royal University Hospital surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, sister, brother-in-law and niece.

Born on February 27, 1947, in Meadow Lake, SK to Frank and Florence Chartrand. He was the eldest of a large family and a member of Flying Dust First Nation. He was a cherished brother and uncle and found joy connecting with his siblings, nieces and nephews when able.

He, along with his brother George, went on to be cared for by Albert and Lillian Dunser of Robinhood, SK. There he gained additional siblings, Bradley Dunser, Natalie (Brian) Dunser, and Laurie (Dale) Miller. As well as additional nieces and nephews. Lifelong bonds were formed and he referred to Lin and Albert as mom and dad; their house was home.

Lawrence was a dedicated, hardworking man known for his remarkable career in trucking. He was recognized as The Saskatchewan Trucker of the year in 1995 and had the distinction of driving millions of miles without a single accident. A testament to his skill and care.

Beyond his professional achievements Lawrence was passionate about sports and recreation. He enjoyed curling, slo-pitch, golfing, and pickleball. As a proud member of the Legends Golf Club, he spent many hours on the greens. For a man of few words Lawrence had many friends. He was generous and kind.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elsa; daughter Jennifer (Chris); and his beloved grandson and name sake, Shepherd Lawrence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Olser Community Church, 625 3rd Street, Osler, SK.
