Jean Elizabeth Ardell (nee Welsh) age 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Saskatoon, SK.
Jean was born February 19, 1931, in Lacadena, Saskatchewan to Mabel and Erman Welsh. She was the oldest of 8 children and raised on the family farm. She attended Bible College, and it was at church that she met the love of her life, Bruce. They married in 1951 and shared 44 years of marriage while raising 5 children in Saskatoon. Jean began her career as a teacher before dedicating 25 years to Sherbrooke Nursing Home. She taught music lessons, shared her love of music with others, and loved decorating her home and church, making every space warm and welcoming.
Jean was an amazing mother, devoted wife to the late Bruce, proud grandma and great-grandma, sister, and friend. She cherished her daughter Judy and grandson Dallas deeply and loved the time they spent together. They held a special place in her heart.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Wendy and Judy; daughter-in-law MaryAnn; grandchildren Layne, Crystal, Jason (Allison), Darren (Miranda) Corey (Kayla), Brandon (Alyssa) and Dallas; as well as great grandchildren Isabelle, Scarlette, Adrianna, Emily, Brielle, Carson, Levi, Isaiah, Rhea, Everett and Charolette.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Bruce; 2 sons Ron and Doug; daughter Gloria; and great grandson Kayden.
Jean lived a full and long life filled with faith, family, music, and great fellowship. Her love and memory will live on in all of us.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ The Healer Gospel Church, 136 Ave F South, Saskatoon, SK. To watch the live stream please click on the link below.
