Jireh Laurico
May 10, 1997 – April 22, 2026
Jireh Ian Alvin Laurico, 28, passed away on April 22, 2026, at Royal University Hospital. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Ian was born on May 10, 1997, in Ilog, Negros Occidental, Philippines. His loving parents are Boc and Inday Laurico. He spent his early years growing up in the Philippines before moving to Canada with his family in March 2015, where he continued to build a life filled with kindness, connection, and quiet joy.
He completed his high school education at Bethlehem Catholic High School in 2018. Ian had a creative spirit and found happiness in making bracelets and crafts, often gifting them to friends as tokens of his affection. He had a deep interest in languages and enjoyed learning Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Khmer—reflecting his curiosity and appreciation for different cultures. Traveling across Southeast Asia and the UAE with his parents enriched his perspective and brought him great joy.
Ian was a devoted member of Saskatoon New Life Community Fellowship. His faith and community were important parts of his life, where he formed meaningful relationships and shared his gentle, caring nature.
Known for his respectful and loving character, Ian embodied kindness in everything he did. He practiced “mano po,” a traditional Filipino gesture of respect, showing deep reverence for elders. He was sweet, friendly, affectionate, and always ready to listen. Ian carried a carefree spirit while also loving unconditionally and caring deeply for those around him. His presence brought comfort and warmth to many.
As expressed in the words he valued, “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” – Jackie Robinson. Ian truly lived this message, leaving a lasting imprint on everyone he encountered.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Saskatoon New Life Community Fellowship, 3532 Fairlight Drive, Saskatoon.
