Daffodil Montejar Cullamar Apaya, 72, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026 at the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 

Daffodil was born on June 7, 1953, in Bato, Bais, Negros Oriental,  Philippines, to the late Reverend Francisco Maaghop Cullamar and Melecia Montejar Cullamar. She was the youngest of six siblings: Herbert Moody, Jocelyn, Reverend Stanley, Dahliadell and Zinniaflor. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Herbert Moody, Dahliadel, and Jocelyn.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the prestigious Silliman University in Dumaguete, Philippines, and once worked as a Medical Social Worker at Far Eastern University Hospital. In 1992, Daffodil immigrated to Canada with her family, with the help of her brother in law Florian and sister Zinniaflor Ulrich.

Daffodil had a deep love for the Lord and faithfully attended church with her family and friends. She was a talented vocalist and a gifted baker and cook, and she delighted in making crafts, music, and sharing meals. She enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing, shopping and was especially known for her warm hospitality and generous spirit. Daffodil faithfully served in the worship ministry and Bible teaching at Saskatoon New Life Community Church.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry Natividad Apaya; her daughters, Happy Apaya-Wipf and Stephanie Joy Koroscil; her sons-in-law, Joseph P. Wipf and Timothy Koroscil; and her cherished grandchildren, Althea, Ariana, Trustin, Isabelle, and Elijah.  She is dearly loved by her cousins, nephews, nieces and sister and brother in laws, and church friends in the Philippines, Australia, USA and Canada.  

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 6:30 pm and a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. both at Saskatoon New Life Community Church, 3532 Fairlight Dr, Saskatoon, SK. To watch the live stream please click on the link below.
