Ruth Joy Anne Pankratz

Ruth Joy Anne Pankratz

July 28, 2025 – September 5, 2025

Ruth Joy Anne Pankratz passed away peacefully in the arms of her parents on September 5, 2025.

Ruth was born on July 28, 2025. During her 40 days here on earth, Ruth touched many lives and was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Ruth is the daughter of Micah and Joah Pankratz of Saskatoon.

Shortly after her birth, it was discovered that Ruth had a hole in her heart (VSD) and other heart defects, and later she was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome). As Trisomy 18 is considered a fatal genetic disorder, Ruth was moved into comfort care in the NICU and later to her own home. While in the hospital, Ruth had an immense impact on those who came to visit her and each of her medical providers. Her room was filled with a noticeable peace and joy that only comes from our Heavenly Father.

During her brief time on earth, Ruth enjoyed reading stories, going for walks outside, disc golfing, baths, lots of wiggling, and being held close by her parents and family. Ruth was deeply loved by her mama and daddy, her family, and all who met her, and she will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Fellowship Church, 809 32nd St. West, Saskatoon, SK. To watch the live stream please click on the link below.

  4. Dear Joah and Micah. There are no words, really, that will help–but I wanted to let you know that you are in my heart. I’m praying that you find ways to pray through pain (speak the unspeakable to your God). I’m praying for time and space for you to grieve. For support for both of you, and all others who experience this loss with you. I don’t know if you remember our classes on biblical lament–but perhaps the structure of Address; Complaint; Request; Trust will be helpful in this moment. This is how I am praying for you right now.
