Norene Penner (nee Couch)
September 9, 1939 – August 27, 2025
It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved matriarch, Norene Marilyn Penner (nee Couch) on August 27, 2025. Following a brief illness, Norene slipped away peacefully in the presence of her family, with a loving hand of each of her children upon her.
She is survived by her children, Lois Ciesielski, Brenda (Calvin) Taylor, Norman (Becky) Fisher, Darren (Josie) Fisher, Marcie (Dennis) Beatty, Kim (Jordan) Barteski and daughter-in-law Betty Anne Fisher. She leaves two sisters Lois (Barry) Ellis and Mary Ann Sanderson. She’ll be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her three husbands (not as suspicious as it sounds) Bill Garvie, Clarence Fisher and John Penner and her son David Fisher.
Norene was born in Saskatoon where she lived her entire 85 years. She devoted her life to her children and supported her family at home. She had a passion for travel and a tremendous sense of humour, making us laugh even in her final days. She deeply cherished her life-long friend Diane Whyley.
Norene will be laid to rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery following a private family celebration of her life.
Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
