Clayton Charles Chappell

May 6, 1969 – August 20, 2025

On August 20th, 2025, Clayton Charles Chappell passed away at the age of 56, doing what he loved near his beloved farm. Predeceased by his father-in-law Edward Adacsi, and brother-in-law Glen Adacsi, grandparents William and Florence Chappell, Elmer and Harriet McGowen, and nephew Wyatt Ewen.

Clayton will be missed and treasured by his wife Brenda of 31 years, his daughters Shayla (Jeff May), and Darby (Brendan Davis), his parents Charles and Pearl Chappell, sisters Yvonne (Barney) Olson, Dianne McTavish, Shawna Chappell, and brother Glenn Chappell, his mother-in-law Dorothy Adacsi, sister-in-law Bonnie (Kevin) Cooke, and Joan Adacsi. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors, and great friends.

Clayton was born on May 6, 1969, to Charles and Pearl Chappell, with four older siblings: Yvonne, Dianne, Shawna, and Glenn. He grew up on the farm near Langham, Saskatchewan. Since he could walk, he had a passion to be a farmer; he loved being outside, working the dirt, being in the shop, and tending to his cows. He was proud of this way of life, and he had even more pride in taking over the family operation to continue on its legacy. One of his greatest prides was receiving the “Century Farm Award”, his Ford Trucks, and Allis-Chalmers tractors. When Clayton wasn’t farming, he spent his fair share of time at the rink playing hockey, and at the ball diamond playing fastball with his many teams.

For those who knew Clayton, they knew that he was never in a hurry. He always made time for family, friends, neighbours, and new people he might meet along the way. He loved the good old days of an auction sale, having “team meetings”, having “one more and that’s it”, and “going on fact-finding missions”. He was a simple man who loved his “dollies”, family, friends, farming, and community. His words of wisdom and his presence will be deeply missed by many.

  7. My deepest sympathies to the Chappell family.

I also grew up on generational farm not far from the Chappell farm with my grandparents and parents on the same land not far from the Chappell homestead.
My grandparents and parents knew the entire Chappell family.
I am four years younger but was on the same school bus as Clayton until he got his license. I have many fond bus related memories or him.

  14. To Brenda, the girls and your entire Family. We want to offer you our deepest condolences. When Roz brought Chappy along to play with us on the Border Kings it was a true connection on his first trip to play with us. It was a brotherhood from then on. He was part of us and a big part. Although it’s been years since we have seen him the memories seem to be from yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you ❤️. RIP Chappy 🍻

  15. John and I extend our deep sympathy to Clayton’s family and friends. I remember him sitting in the front desk of the second row in Grade 12, always polite and friendly even when mystified by Hamlet. He was a good kid, lots of fun, and a good friend to so many.

  16. Dear Brenda and girls,
We are so very sorry to hear of Clayton’s passing. He was a good guy, we looked forward to his many visits at the shop (All-0-Matic Transmission) always leaving us laughing – and never quite sure which F-250 he was working on. Heartfelt condolences to you all.
