Thomas Ginther

May 4, 1958 – February 16, 2023

Thomas Ginther passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 16, 2023 at the age of 64.

Tom Ginther was born to Pete & Anne Ginther on May 4, 1958.  He was the third child and first son to Grandma and Grandpa.

At the age of 30 he became a father (to Carla). From there he would go on to have two more daughters, Jamie and Kristie.

Us girls were his world.  We have many, many wonderful childhood memories thanks to our dad.  Dad was always very sure we had an abundance of puppies, kitties, bunnies and horses around us.  This steady stream of joy often came from the Saskatoon Auction Mart on Saturday mornings.

As us girls got older we definitely became more involved in the horse world.  Most Fridays you could find us packing the camper and loading the horses to take off for the next trail ride. Dad also enabled us to participate in gymnkhanas, 4-H, and drill team.  It was a great way to grow up and I know dad treasured those years as much as us girls do.

Unfortunately as time went on mental illness and addiction started to take over dads life.  In spite of this, dad still clung onto Jesus Christ as his hope and strength.

I guess Dad’s sudden and unexpected death can be a reminder to all of us that life is fleeting, here today and gone tomorrow.  So if you do not know Jesus Christ as your saviour I urge you to use this season to seek Him out, call out to Him. Repent and turn away from your sins and turn to Jesus Christ.

If you are loaded down with guilt and shame you can only be truly free from that heavy burden through Jesus Christ.

Romans 10 tells us- “the word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is the word of faith that we proclaim) because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, you will be saved.”

A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny.

I am so saddened to hear this! Tom was a great neighbour to us for many years in Martensville, and his girls were like my sisters when I lived across the street from them. Many happy memories of Tom taking us all to Lac La Peche or to his parent’s condo to go swimming. He will be missed!

I’m so saddened to hear about Tom’s passing. He was a great friend and we spend many hours on the phone or in summer quading in the forest reserve. Tom adopted my daughters and grandkids, and took them as his own, He spoke often of his daughters and he missed them and his grandkids so very much. Love you Tom, as much as I will miss you My only comfort is that you are no longer in pain. I’m sure he is catching up with many stories with his mom.

My deepest condolences to you, girls, and your families. I
Met your dad on an excursion to value Village in Saskatoon years ago. I got to know him over coffee and the odd lunch.
He was a very very nice man. He spoke very highly of you girls, and he loved his horses. He will be missed. He had a big heart. God bless you all.
