William (Bill) Giesbrecht
October 10, 1928 – August 18, 2022
William (Bill) Giesbrecht was born October 10, 1928 and passed away August 18, 2022 at the age of 93. He was the 2nd youngest of 11 children born to David and Anna Giesbrecht near Clarkboro Ferry. He met the love of his life Helen Wiebe and they married on October 15, 1950. Mom and dad had a farm close to Clarkboro ferry and raised cattle, pigs, chickens and also did some grain farming. Mom and dad sold the farm and moved to Warman to a new home in 1977. Dad also worked in Saskatoon as a concrete truck driver for Stodola Concrete which later became Revelstoke Concrete. He was forced into mandatory retirement in 1993 at the age of 65. To occupy his time in retirement, dad built a workshop and made many gifts for us at Christmas. He could custom build many items. If you wanted something he would say” show me a picture” and that’s the only pattern he needed. After mom become ill in 2007, he continued to live on his own. He did his own cooking, cleaning and laundry. He also liked to bake – his specialty was making gingersnap cookies at Christmas time. It was only in the last few months that he agreed that he needed a walker for better stability. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ken(Lorna) Giesbrecht, Amy (Lee) Webb, Melanie (Denley) Regier, Kyle (Geralynn) Giesbrecht, Courtney Giesbrecht; Barbara Nadon,Leslie (Tyler) Kuny, Jill Nadon (Neale Genereux); Laura Giesbrecht; Wayne (Dawn) Giesbrecht, Cuba Giesbrecht, Desirae Giesbrecht; Eight great grandchildren; Jaida Wilnechenko, Emily Regier, Reilly (Brooke) Regier, Natalie Regier, Amelia Giesbrecht, Riyah Giesbrecht, Jasper James and Olivia Graham. He was predeceased by his wife Helen in August 2019, his parents and all his siblings. We will miss you dad, and your wry sense of humour! The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for the wonderful care he received in his last 2 weeks. A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Warman Bergthaler Mennonite Church. Interment at Warman Memorial Gardens following the service.

Dear Ken and Lorna, I was sorry to hear that Ken’s dad had passed away. May God comfort and uphold you. I have fond memories of Lorna playing piano for me at church so long ago. Was that at Neuhorst or Warman? Thank you for bravely stepping out and helping the church and me so very well. Now you have lost the last of both your parents. Jesus said, “Come unto me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”
To the family of this great man he was, my heart goes out to you. Your dad was the kindest most genuine man that I have gotten know to just by serving him. His bright smile could light up the room and you know your day was going be better just by knowing him. I pray that your love for each other through this loss. I always loved serving your dad. Thank you for continuing to trust me as I ring through your groceries. William I will miss your smile. I will miss your conversations. Hugs to the family
