Wilma Ruby Regehr
July 27, 1939 – March 11, 2026
Wilma Ruby Regehr passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 86.
Wilma was born on July 27, 1939, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and grew up on a farm near Langham. While she enjoyed farm life, Wilma carried a deep curiosity about the world and dreams beyond the fields of her childhood. After graduating from Langham High School, she left the farm and moved to Saskatoon to pursue new opportunities.
Wilma worked in the fashion department at Eaton’s, where her natural sense of style and creativity flourished. She later worked at the Co-op, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Lavern Regehr. Together they built a warm and fulfilling life, grounded in love, partnership, and shared interests.
Wilma and Lavern enjoyed traveling to exotic destinations, listening to music, and creating a beautiful home and yard that reflected Wilma’s artistic vision. Creativity infused every part of her life—she expressed it through painting, clothing design and sewing, needlework, cooking, and an endless curiosity for plants.
Her greatest passion was horticulture, especially orchids. Wilma nurtured hundreds of orchids in her greenhouse, tending to them with patience, devotion, and joy. She was a proud Honorary Lifetime Member of the Saskatoon Orchid Society, a recognition that reflected both her expertise and her generosity in sharing knowledge with others.
Wilma was happiest spending hours each day in her greenhouse, nurturing her orchids and cultivating a beautiful, tranquil yard. In her later years, time spent with her plants became a source of comfort, purpose, and peace.
Wilma is survived by her devoted husband, Lavern Regehr, who shared a rich and loving life with her.
Wilma will be remembered for her creativity, her quiet strength, her love of beauty in all its forms, and the care she poured into everything she touched—from her garden to her home and relationships. Her legacy lives on in the living, growing beauty she leaves behind.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date when plants are blooming.
Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.

In the loss of someone so special as Wilma our thoughts are with Lavern and all those who loved her best. She was as precious as her gems and lovely as her orchids.
Wilma had a sparkling personality and was gifted with many talents. She took great pride in showing guests her orchids and the stunning garden she and Lavern created. R.I.P. Wilma.
Our sympathies Lavern. It has been too many years since we last met but I always enjoyed Wilma’s sense of humour.
My sincerest condolences Laverne. Having just lost my wife and the love of my life, I fully understand what you have lost. May God give you the strength to cope and may the memories you and Wilma made together provide comfort in the upcoming days and months. My condolences to Phyllis (Dennis) and Leola too. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
How sad to lose a decades long good friend. Wilma and I date back to Saskatoon Co-op days of the 60’s, and still remained in touch all these years. Always upbeat and positive, even under her difficult medical conditions. She was a great worker, florist, collector, talker, dresser, music lover, dog lover, cake decorator, and food lover, she did it all with success in her lifetime with us. Our sincere sympathy and regrets to her loving partner Laverne.
My deepest sympathy Laverne, may your fond memories get you through this very difficult time.
