Kimberly Dawn Anderson
July 1, 1968 – August 8, 2025
Kimberly Dawn Anderson was born on July 1, 1968 in Fort William, Ontario to parents Don and Linda Richardson. She spent most of her childhood split between Qualicum Beach, British Columbia and Stoughton, Saskatchewan where her paternal grandfather Grandpa Harry farmed. Kim ultimately found her way to Chateau Lake Louise where she met her husband Bryce through written letters. Bryce was the roommate of Kim’s brother Mike, and he encouraged Bryce to write the first letter introducing himself. When they finally met in person in Victoria in 1988, they were instantly in love.
Kim and Bryce were married September 1, 1990 in Victoria, and their first child Jacob arrived in 1993, followed by Christopher in 1995. and Natalie in 2000. Before long, Kim and her family were bound for Saskatchewan. Through the years, she found her forever home in Borden with her very best friends and neighbours. Kim loved to be involved in the community, especially through the school. She worked as a librarian at the Borden Lakeland Library. One of Kim’s biggest passions in life was her dogs. She bred championship English-style Labrador Retrievers for companionship, hunting, and service dogs.
After her home in Borden, her next favourite spot in the world was Paradise Village in Puerta Vallarta. She brought her husband, her mom, her kids, and her friends with her to Mexico as often as possible. There she’d lounge in the pool, drink pina coladas, and explore the beach.
She’s survived by husband Bryce Anderson, son Jacob Anderson (Chelsey), son Christopher Anderson (Robynn), daughter Natalie Anderson (Lachlan), grandson Jack Anderson, father Don Richardson (Marnie), mother Melinda Jakubcak, brother Michael Richardson (Angie), and by loving cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at the Borden Community Centre.
Memorial donations may be made to the Borden Lakeland Library, Box 58, Borden, SK S0K 0N0.
Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
So very sorry for the loss of your Mom, please accept my deepest condolences.
Kim was such a wonderful person. Her love of reading and children really showed in her work. She’s the reason my son started reading the Hardy boys and was never to busy to look up and order books for the kids. We will really miss talking with her.
Forever and always she will shine brightly and be forever in my hearts.
Kim was always a pleasure to chat with courtside at volleyball. We were very sorry to hear of her passing. Sending our prayers and deepest sympathy to the family.
Dear Bryce and family, I am so deeply sorry to learn of the profound loss of your wife and mother, Kim, who shared her love of family and community through her work with the Borden library and generations of her beloved Labs. May you find comfort in the love and joy that was the light in Kim.

I am so sorry for your loss, Kim started me reading again, and was so helpful in finding the type of books I might like. The last time I saw her she was cuddling her brand new brand Grandson. Such a sad time. I have found that memories are the most precious gift the Lord has given us.

Kim will be so very missed. My deepest condolences to all her many friends and family members.
I met Kim because we were looking to bring a new Labrador puppy into our lives after the loss of our beloved lab. She was so warm welcoming and committed to her labs and the people who adopted them. She said to me that she wanted to keep in touch with her new puppy families, and that she did, and I followed her every post and I reached out to her when we had questions. This feels so deeply sad for me, I can’ only imagine how it must feel for her family. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends who will miss her terribly

Oh my Kimmy , such a shock,I’ve just found out today .
Dear Bryce and family I am so sad that that light called Kim has dimmed but oh she is shining so brightly in heaven and with us now . Kim was so like my mother, dogs, animals, were her life and life was her energy. That bubbly young girl I met at Saint Stephen’s in Qualicum, who was so eager to come and ride Chee, Chi, our Pinto pony. In the early 1980s we struck a friendship up and as kindred spirits, we felt such resonance being around each other and I was so blessed to visit you both in 2022 when the old barn was still there. Kim was very much like me. She made life happen in any circumstance, and there was always a joy to her.. To all her children and you, Bryce, our love and support from Jane, John, Chris,(Heather), Sarah (Ryan), and the grandchildren .Bella & Dayna, Victoria, BC

I first met Kim at Caronport in 1985, when I was in grade 11 and she was my ‘assigned’ roommate for that year. I am/was also Facebook and Instagram friends with her for a long time as well. I thankfully have at least a couple of pictures I had taken of her in our room at D Dorm for girls. I’m so truly sorry for her loss and I’m in shock to hear of her passing. I could see how much she loved her lab dogs (one of my very favourite breeds).
I wish to extend my sincere condolences to her family and am truly sorry for your loss. By all of the condolences I see here and on FB, she clearly was very much liked and loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed. What a beautiful legacy she left behind that she has left all of us. Rest in eternal peace, Kim!
