It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George McConnell on May 20, 2025, at St Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.
George Augustus McConnell was born October 19, 1927, at Lacadena, SK. George spent the majority of his life farming at Dinsmore and driving school bus. In 1994 he retired, and he and Ruth had a farm auction and moved to Saskatoon.
George leaves to mourn his daughter Shannon (Rick Sonmor) of Dalmeny and their 3 sons Tony (Candace & daughter Jenna), Scott and Mitchell (Jazzlynn) and daughter Patricia (Ron Boechler) of Saskatoon and their 4 children Matthew (Eryka & daughters Ilsa & Layne), Christopher (Kate), Devon (son Enver) and Hannah, sister Lena Higgins of Saskatoon and sisters-in-law Jeanne Bayless and Gladys Smith both of Moosomin as well as many nieces and nephews. George is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 66 years Ruth, his son Larry McConnell of Dinsmore, brothers John McConnell and his wife Doreen of Saskatoon, Lorne McConnell and his wife Kay of Abbotsford, BC and brother-in-law Bob Higgins of Saskatoon, Sonny Gardner of Welwyn, Jim Gardner and his wife Donna of Edmonton, Harry Bayless of Rocanville, and Wesley Smith of Moosomin.

Funeral services to be held at Dalmeny Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Lunch to follow at Dalmeny Heritage Centre. A private family burial for both parents will be held at Dinsmore Cemetery later the same day. To watch the live stream please click on the link below.
