Geoffrey John Wright

October 21, 1947 – May 8, 2025

Geoffrey John Wright beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at his home on May 8, 2025, at the age of 77 years.

Geoff was predeceased by his parents, Anthony & Margaret Wright and his wife Iris Wright (June 1998).

Geoff leaves to mourn his daughters Amanda and Deborah. His 6 grandchildren Jared, Jordan, Justin, Jenessa, Joshua and Jazmine as well as 2 great grandchildren Jaxon and Banks.

Geoff was born on October 21, 1947, in England.  He met his wife Iris in school and married at 18 at the courthouse in England. Geoff worked in the coal mines in England while going to college to achieve his electrical engineering degree.  Amanda was born in England in 1974 and in 1975 Geoff received an offer to work in Canada at the Allen Potash Mine.

Geoff, Iris and Amanda emigrated to Canada in 1975 to Saskatoon where he stayed until his death.  Deborah was born in 1981.  Geoff began to work in his electrical field at Robinhood Flour Mill in Saskatoon for 30 years.  Over those years he traveled extensively with the company and worked 10–12-hour days.  He was a jack of all trades, building the houses we lived in, doing electrical work for friends and neighbors.  He loved to golf in his younger years and spent about 25 years playing snooker at the Snooker Shack.  When Goeff’s wife passed in 1998 he was diagnosed with a sleep disorder which meant he had to retire at 51 years of age. He lived alone after that and enjoyed his retirement.  Geoff enjoyed playing slots, snooker and crosswords.  Geoff was very intelligent and knew a lot about history and enjoyed talking about American politics. Geoff was an artist in his own right.  Geoff had a talent and painted many pieces over the years.

Skilled, smart, talented, funny, very kind to people he loved.  Geoff will be missed and remembered by all who knew him. RIP DAD FLY HIGH.

A family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
