Earl Henry Chapple
January 21, 1955 – September 26, 2024
Earl passed away peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife Tracy by his side at the tender age of 69. Having a short battle with cancer.
“Earl, we know life hasn’t been easy for you lately and there must have been times when it was hard to look forward to tomorrow. Hopefully we gave you the strength you needed to make it through the difficulties you had to face. Hold on to our gift of love and remember that those who care about you will love you always.”
Earl is survived by his wife Tracy, son Leigh, son Bradford (Michelle), and daughter Amanda. Stepchildren, Michael (fiancé Hannah), Amanda (Coy), and Kayla. Also is survived by his many grandchildren. Earl’s siblings, Diane, Brenda, Greg, Meridee, and their families; mother-in-law Suzanne, sisters-in-law Regan and Reyna, brother-in-law Tyler and their families with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Earl was predeceased by his first wife Donna, his parents Edith and Geroge, and father-in-law Mathew.
Earl held a few different positions in his career, including his first love of farming, wire rope, driving sewer truck before he chose Flexicoil, now New Holland Agriculture (CNH). He started out as a production welder. Then became a supervisor, moving into special projects, R & D, tooling, toolmaker, and jig design. He retired in June of 2021 just shy of 30 years of service.
Earl had many passions in life which included farming, skidooing, tractor pulling, photography, sailing, curling, playing pool, bird watching, gardening, designing, welding, and of course tinkering in the garage. He made sure nothing left the yard to be repaired. He would find any means possible to be able to fix all machinery at home. YouTube videos, manuals or just talking to the right people.
Very seldom would you find Earl in front of a camera, he loved what he could do from behind the camera.
Earl called Hepburn home for the last 15 years saying it was like being on the farm. He was able to watch seeding and harvest all from his chair in the back yard. He loved every minute of it. He also took to heart fixing and tinkering on small engines for the neighbours in town. Chain saws, weed wackers, garden tractors, rototillers or anything else that was dropped off on his doorstep. Earl will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
“Memory is a gift that death cannot destroy.”
A Celebration of Earl’s Life will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Centre, 422 Main Street, Hepburn, SK.
At the request of Earl’s wife Tracy, please refrain from wearing black. Earl loved colours so wear something bright.
A special thanks to the staff at RUH and Glengarda Hospice for Earl’s palliative care. Your tender loving care will not be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations in Earl’s memory may be made to Glengarda Hospice, C/O St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society, or another charity of your choice.
Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
