Clinton Orval Dyck

Clinton Orval Dyck

April 18, 1951 – August 3, 2024

Clinton Orval Dyck, or Clint, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Biggar, SK.

Clint is survived by his wife, Catherine (Cathy) Ann Dyck (née Reimer); his children, Julie Ann Isaac, Matthew Clinton Dyck (Rachel Dyck), Jason James Moccasin, and Ryan Daniel Moccasin; his grandchildren, Keira and Kaden Isaac, and Makayla Dyck; his sisters, Brenda Fehr (Jake), Joanne Rainer (Keray), Joyce Fehr (Norm). He is predeceased by his father, Arthur Dyck, and mother, Ruth Dyck (née Klein), his sister, Carol McLeod (Les), and his brother, Gordon Dyck.

Clint was born on April 18, 1951, in the small town of Herbert, SK. He spent his childhood years living in various farm locations throughout Saskatchewan, helping his father and mother along with his siblings. Growing up, Clint was involved in horse show competitions, fixing and racing cars, and weightlifting. On June 28, 1980, Clint married his sweetheart Cathy in Canwood, SK. Newlywed, Clint went to work as a labourer on the Canadian National (CN) Railway, putting in long hours of back-breaking work.

A farmer at heart and a lover of horses, Clint settled in the small community of Sonningdale, SK. On March 4, 1982, and July 24, 1983, respectively, Clint and Cathy welcomed their two beautiful children, Julie and Matthew, and later Jason and Ryan.

Singing in the church congregation was a favourite pastime. Feeding the cattle was a daily honour. With his family, he was generous in affection, wisdom, and humour. Whether on the floor hockey court or at the racetrack with extended family and friends, his infectious laugh could occupy any space. Eventually, Clint would become a devoted grandfather, doting on his grandchildren for the remainder of his life.

Clint will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Territorial Drive Church, 2302 Clements Drive, North Battleford, SK. All are welcome to attend. To watch the live stream please click on the link below.

It is so hard to say “til we meet again” to old friends. We had so many “adventures” together!! We shared so much laughter and we upheld each other through times of tears. When help was needed we were there for each other. How we are going to miss our dear friend Clint…… We know he is at home with Jesus now. There is no more pain and he is with his Lord and Saviour and his loved ones who have gone on before him. We will meet him again!❤️
Our love, sympathy and prayers go out to Cathy, Julie, Matthew, Rachel, Jason, Ryan, Kiera,Makayla and Kaden.

Cathy & family Sorry to see that Clint passed. He stayed with us as a baby when aunt Ruth was sick, so I always felt a closeness in that respect. Praying that you will sense Gods nearness at this time.

This was so hard, one of my second dads I would say, from growing up. I can only imagine what Clinton and your family have been going through. I can’t get the picture of Clinton’s smiling, caring blue eyes out of my head and never want to. My greatest sympathies to Cathy, Julie, Matthew, Jason, Ryan and your families as well. Your dad, husband, grandfather will be missed by so many, but touched so many with his joy, love of life and spirit of generosity. I pray your many good memories sustain you in this time.

Though we haven’t had the privilege of meeting Clint and his family we have gotten to know Jake and Brenda (sister) and followed Clint’s journey through them. For all, the loss must be intense. May the comforting closeness of Jesus be a sensed reality.

Dear Kathy and family, So sorry that Clint has passed away. I remember hanging out with Clint way back as Brenda and I were best friends in High School and so naturally I hung out with Clint as well. Remember how Brenda and Clint and I some times hung out after Young People’s in the Dalmeny MB Church. His laughter was always so much fun. I remember connecting with you and Clint over the last years whenever we would run into each other. The road is long and hard, but praying for God to hold you in the palm of his hand.
