Norman Arnold Unterberger
December 16, 1956 – July 17, 2024
Norman Arnold Unterberger beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle was taken home into God’s loving arms July 17, 2024, in Saskatoon SK at the age of 67. Norm was born in Calgary, AB December 16, 1956, and was the second child of four to parents Sharon (Unterberger) Straathof and Arnold Unterberger. His schooling years were spent in Calgary, Redcliff, Medicine Hat AB and Prince Albert SK. Norm played the role of “man of the house” from a young age; with his mother and three sisters. Growing up he was known as creative and inventive, which continued throughout the years demonstrated by his expressions of craftsmanship, art and poetic heart. There was a wild side to Norm pertaining to his love of classic, fast cars and motorcycles. He had a variety of jobs including dairy farmhand, carpentry and painting.
He met the true love of his life, Brenda (Serfas) Unterberger in Prince Albert SK and they were married October 22, 1982. Together they raised their three beautiful children, Shawn, Tyler and Lindsey. Family and faith were most important to Norman and Brenda as they faced many challenges together throughout their lives. They lived in Kelowna BC for a period of years returning once again to Saskatchewan.
Norm is lovingly remembered by son: Shawn (Krista) Serfas, son: Tyler (Christine) Unterberger, daughter: Lindsey Unterberger and precious grandchildren: Abigail, Isaiah, Ayla, Madison and Mason, father: Arnold (Marj) Unterberger, sisters: Cheralyn Herman and JoJo (Doug) Osczevski as well as many nieces and nephews. Norm was predeceased by his mother: Sharon Straathof, sister: Karen Anne Unterberger, father and mother in-law: Rudy and Stella Serfas, sister in-law Marilyn Thompson and brother-in-law Ron Serfas. Nothing can ever take away a love the heart holds dear. A private family service was held in his honour. Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
