A grass stalk stuck in his twisted teenage grin, face lit up, as Harvey and Marvin rode those horses on the home place. As poor as kings we were! We all leaned on the old grey three rail, some barely reaching the second, and watched the boys… swing up into real cowboys. I can still smell the leather and dust, see the sun setting low, and hear that soft whistle swipp as air flew past tounges pressed to teeth, in a silent command as those ponies awoke and lowered into an explosion of power and speed! The two cowboys low in the saddle, reigns held out, but loose, all to say, “run free boys! I know that was when Harvey was his happiest! I know like any real broken cowboy he had his share and then some. But you won’t find a truer soul, unconfidently couragous, a humble, better man when it counted. He knew his Lord and was holdin’ on to that one way ticket! I pray the Lord has saved him a good horse when his train rolls into heaven…I always looked up to you Harvey-your cousin Earl

I am so sad to see this! A few years ago when I was working in Market mall, Harvey would often come and keep me company while the mall was slow and he was finished his coffee visits! He was a sweet man with lots of stories. I am so sorry for your loss! May he rest in peace.

Our church family was blessed to have Harvey join us for worship many Sunday mornings at Calvary Church in Saskatoon. We came to know Harvey as a sincere, gentle and out-going man who loved his family and the Lord. We rejoice that he’s home now for all eternity with his Lord & Savior and we pray now for God’s peace for his family and friends.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Harvey’s passing. He often came to our church, St Vincent of Lerins Orthodox, for lunch on Sundays after the service. He will be missed. We plan to have a little memorial service for him this weekend. May God be your comfort and strength during this time. Praying for all of you!

Harvey and I worked together in La Ronge in 1979 for the department of highways. He had a good sense of humour and we both had some tremendous laughs that summer.
