Rita Joy Glass
October 7, 1960 – April 4, 2024
Rita Joy Glass was born in Saskatoon on October 7, 1960 to parents Joyce and Jack Glass. She came back to her homes in Dalmeny and the farm with her big brother Dan, big sisters Joan and Marilyn, and Grandfather Cecil Glass. Uncles, Aunties, and cousins lived nearby.
It was evident that Rita loved the farm and her family. She had a house in Dalmeny, but farm was her freedom. Moving to North Battleford at 8, she continued with school and excelled in music and taking care of her baby brother. Always involved in her local church, after high school graduation, Rita attended Nipawin Bible Institute where she continued to grow in her faith and musical abilities.
Her love of farming continued, and she returned full time working at the farm and serving at the nearby church in Mayfair after finishing at NBI.
An avid sports fan, she followed curling, the Olympics, the Edmonton Oilers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Moving to Saskatoon was a hard choice for her and she returned to the farm as often as possible, hosting many family gatherings as she renovated the family farmhouse and yard. She came to love her families at Teen Challenge and Riverbend Church of God.
Rita’s friends deserve special recognition. Rita made and kept strong, dear friends. If you were friends with Rita, you knew it. She did not enter into relationships lightly and she cherished each one of them.
Rita passed from this world to Heaven on April 4, 2024. A hard day for us, a GREAT DAY for her.
