Arthur “Art” Edward Mould

Arthur “Art” Edward Mould

June 21, 1950 – June 26, 2023

Arthur Edward Mould was born June 21, 1950 to George and Silvia (nee Saathoff) Mould in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  He grew up on the family farm west of Marquis, Saskatchewan, the oldest of three children.  He received his schooling at Westview School until Grade 7, Lindale School for Grades 8 and 9, completing his high school education at Peacock in Moose Jaw.  He then went on to take Farm Machinery Mechanics at Kelsey Institute (Sask. Polytechnic).  After graduation, he went on to work as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for 40 years with Bell International Trucks.

Art’s first passion was farming.  He farmed alongside his dad for many years and passed on his farming skills to his children.  Art loved returning to the farm on weekends after working all week in the city.   Most weekends while at the farm, Art would always invite someone to have a meal with us.  He loved the fellowship around the table.  More than this he loved to share good food because he loved to eat!

Art loved being around people and sharing a good cup of coffee with them.  He made many friends going to Tim Horton’s for coffee.  His mom was always amazed how easy it was for him to talk to people he had never met.  His bubbly personality and boisterous laugh made it very easy to love him.

He loved having family and friends over for meals and loved to barbeque for them (because he loved to eat).  His barbeque skills were enjoyed by many!

The proudest moments in Art’s life were when he became a grandpa.  With each grandchild that came into his life, Art would always take a moment to pray and thank God for their safe arrival.  He felt very blessed having them in his life.

Art loved many people but most of all he loved his Lord and Saviour.  He prayed daily and thanked God for all the good things in his life.   He said regularly he was so blessed to have so many people in his life who loved him.

The last 4 years of Art’s life were difficult for him as he lived with dementia.  At the time of his passing, he was a resident of Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon.  He passed peacefully surrounded by family who loved him.  A special thank you goes to the staff of East 1 who cared for him while he was there.

As a family, we find comfort and rejoice knowing we will all one day see him again in heaven.

Left to cherish his legacy and his memory are his wife Hertha(nee Unger), his children Shannon (Kyla) Mould, Nolan (Jenn) Mould, Joanna (Kelly) Haydaman, grandchildren Charlie, Syndey and Felix Mould, Cooper and Kayne Mould, Addison, Aubrey and Chase Haydaman.  He is also survived by his sisters Marlene Mould (Dennis Waldenberger) and Rosemary (Brian) Huber, his in-laws Marie Unger, Carol Unger, Ken (Pauline) Unger and Judi (Lyndon) Lepp.  Nieces and nephews Jodi (Landon) Suchan, Ryan Unger, Chelsea (Jason) Fauchoux, Janelle Unger (Daniel Johnson), Colten Lepp and Caitlyn Lepp (Jeremey Mullin), great nephews Myles Unger, Brooks Suchan, and great niece Elliot Suchan.

He was predeceased by his first wife Anne, his parents George and Silvia, his parents-in-law Bill and Mary Unger, and brother-in-law John Unger.

“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him to even subject all things to himself.”  (Phillipians 3:20-21)

I knew Art from when I coached Shannon in hockey . You could not ask for a nicer and more respectful parent, which traits showed up in his son. May you rest in peace Art. Condolences to his family.

I knew Art as my farming neighbor, and also as a John Deere lover, man oh man did he love his John Deere’s.
Me being a lover of CaseIh meant that just about every time I bumped into Art it always turned into a teasing each other about which one was better. But he always had that smile at the end of it that mean’t you can boast all you want about CaseIh he knew that John Deere would always be the best.
Rest in peace Art and may the good lord get use to you and all your John Deere wardrobe.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family at this difficult time

Our sincere condolences to Shannon, Nolan, Jo and families. Your parents were respected members of our community and we always appreciated you as our close neighbors. You kids attended school, played sports and just spent time in our back yards together. Thinking of you all with heartfelt sympathy, the Matschkes.
