Edith Chapple passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 26, 2023 at her home at Diamond House in Warman at the age of 92. She is survived by her children, Dianne (Lorne) Evans of Calgary, Brenda (Bill) Harnett of Warman, Earl Chapple, Greg (Mary Ann) Chapple of Grandora & Meridee (Clint) Kopelchuk of Canora. She also had many loved & cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George, parents Gordon and Jessie Minty, siblings Mary, Ronald, Alice, Elaine & Gordon and daughter in law Donna.

Edith was born in Saskatoon on November 14, 1930 and lived on the family farm in Asquith. She attended Grasby school and Dressmaking College in Saskatoon. She married George on Sept 4, 1950 together they built a home on Avenue K North in Saskatoon where they raised their first 3 children Dianne, Brenda & Earl. They then purchased their own farm down the road from Uncle Jims at Grandora. Where they raised they raised Greg & Meridee. Nothing was more important to Mom and Dad than the farm, family and treasured friends.

They retired from farming in 1997 & moved to Saskatoon. After we lost Dad in 2005 Mom lived on her own for the first time and did for 10 years. Mom was an accomplished seamstress. She sewed a lot of our clothing & for many others as well. Mom loved gardening, whether it was the one acre garden on the farm or her backyard garden in Saskatoon she was always proving her green thumb. She never had idle hands. Her last productive years she spent much of her time travelling to Meridee’s to help her on her busy farm.

She then went on to live at Villa Royale and Diamond House in Warman. We would like to give a Huge Thank You to the staff at Diamond House in Warman. She couldn’t have been in better hands. We will not be having a Memorial Service at this time but are planning a special celebration in the future. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
