Delbert Joseph Carruthers
May 23, 1931 – March 6, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Delbert Joseph Carruthers. His wife of 65 years, Marge, was at his side. Del was predeceased by his mother, Barbara and all of his brothers, Webb, Earl, Leo and Roy. He was raised on a farm and his love of farming never left him even though he was also a truck driver and mechanic in his lifetime. As small children, he always had at least one of us with him in the truck or at Young’s Esso, working on the trucks or hauling shavings to Mendel’s feed lot from Big River. When he was at home in Asquith, he could always be found in his garage. Del was known to many as DJ or Papa Del or as “favourite” Uncle Del. He will be forever remembered, loved, and missed by his family. A special thank you goes out to the Langham Care Home for the kind, compassionate care they provided to him in his last few months. There is no celebration of life planned at this time. Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.
