Geraldine Delores (Yerhoff) Charlebois

September 24, 1959 – February 6, 2022

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine at Preston Park II in Saskatoon at the age of 62. Gerri was a devoted mother to Jamie (Kevin) Wright, Jennifer MacMillan, Geoffrey Charlebois, and Michelle (Michael) Lauen. She was overjoyed each time she became a grandmother and loved Alexander and Zoe Wright; Maegan and Kaitlyn MacMillan; and Everett and Aurora Lauen. Gerri also leaves behind four siblings: Debra (Ray) Belfour, Holly (Bill) Marjan, Kim (Edward) Shier, John Yerhoff, and her many nieces and nephews. Gerri was a hardworking wife (divorced from Ron in 2002) and stay at home mom who completed her GED when her eldest child was in high school. She continued her studies and became a registered nurse with her career starting in Saskatoon, taking her to the United States, and ending in Alberta. As a young woman she enjoyed gymnastics and softball. She liked to fish, travel, bowl, watch shows, play games (board, card and billiards), and meet new people. She often won at BINGO and radio contests! She loved food and being with family and friends. Despite the fact that her loved ones were spread across the country, she looked forward to opportunities to visit. She was very proud of her families’ and friends’ accomplishments. She loved to show her appreciation by cooking and baking for people. She was Catholic and as an adult chose to be baptized at St Anne’s Church in Saskatoon. Dalmeny Funeral Home is caring for her and supporting with final arrangements. Thank you to our family and friends. Your love and support has made this time much easier.

Gerri, may you have found peace with the Lord and your loved ones.

Friends and family of Geraldine Charlebois are welcome to attend the memorial service, followed by refreshments, at St Anne’s Catholic Church (217 Lenore Drive in Saskatoon) on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 10:00 am. The interment of cremains will take place that same day at Woodlawn Cemetery (Block 28 RC) at about 1:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of donor’s choice or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (https://www.heartandstroke.ca).

Arrangements entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.

Sorry for your loss. Gerri was and will always be in my heart. We were not only sister’s but were friends . We spent many hours visiting over coffee and cake taking our kids to the pools. Hanging out at my farm and the kids riding horse. My heart aches for our loss but the only scars in heaven are on the hands that hold her now. God Bless you all .

I have very fond memories of my sister growing up as I looked up to her as she was very athletic. I used to follow her to her softball games as a child at which at sometimes she was not pleased with. Gerri had moved to Edmonton from Calgary in which the tables turned and now she was following me to my softball games. She was always a joy to have at the games as she was very vocal on cheering my team on and harraseing the opposing team. Gerri loved bbq steak and I did get a chance to have a steak BBQ with her a month before her passing. To her daughters my sincere sadness is shared with you all. Rest in peace sis. Always in my heart.

Thinking of all of you girls and your families during this sad time. I know you all would have loved to have more time with your mom. She was a lot of fun when she joined our family. We played ball together for a season and she taught me to drive. She laughed a lot. That was a huge accomplishment, becoming an RN. I hope the good memories help you get through this difficult time.

I am very sorry for your loss. I did not get a chance to know aunt Geri very well, but she would always leave sweet comments on social media about my son which I appreciated. I could also tell she was very proud of and deeply loved her children and grandchildren. One day she reunited with all of her loved ones in a perfect new world free from medical issues and pain.
“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Rev 21:4.

Gerri was a lot of fun when she joined our family. She laughed a lot. We played some baseball games together and she helped me with learning to drive. Obtaining her RN was a great accomplishment. We are thinking of you girls and your families during this difficult time.
