Joe Wheeler
July 20, 1943 – December 18, 2021
Joe Wheeler of Saskatoon, SK passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2021 and entered into the presence of his Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be mourned and greatly missed by his family, including his brother Gerald of Calgary, AB and extended family members and friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents Bill and Elizabeth (Tiessen), sister Marjorie (Penner) and infant brother David. Joe had a deep love and respect for God, the Holy Bible and cherished his Mennonite heritage. He was very well-read with a gifted mind and knowledge in many subjects, especially history.
Remembered as an exuberant storyteller (many of the details were also true), his witty sense of humor, a generous heart towards family and those in need, and humming of old tunes (at times in German verse) that brought smiles to those around.
A celebration of Joe’s life is being planned for the summer.
