Arthur Lepp

September 7, 1928 – May 20, 2021

Arthur Willie Lepp was born on September 7, 1928, to Cornelius and Mary (Klassen) Lepp on the family farm NE of Dalmeny. Art farmed with his brother Paul (his best friend) for 50 years on the family farm. He often said he would not have been able to farm without his brother. Art enjoyed life beyond farming, his many interests involved horseback riding, curling, bowling , motorcycling, snowmobiling, bird banding (with Dr. Stuart Houston) and his favourite pastime hunting. Besides hunting locally, the Yukon, and Northwest territories, with friends, Art’s final hunting trips were an African Safari to Tanzania in 2002 and Alaska in 2003. As Art often said, “This all came to an end when he trapped the “dear” of his life, and long time friend, Marilyn.” Art and Marilyn were married on March 20, 2004. Art and Marilyn enjoyed life together. They made two road trips to Texas, as well as vacations to Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, and Cancun, Mexico.

In December of 2017  Art moved to Spruce Manor in Dalmeny due to health conditions where he peacefully passed away on May 20, 2021.

Art is survived by his wife Marilyn, brother in law George Janzen, his nieces and nephews: Eunice Janzen, Jerry (Carol) Janzen, Jeannette (Francois) Richard, Joel (Susan) Janzen, Valerie (Murray) Martens, Darryl (Leslie) Krahn and their families. Marilyn’s children and grandchildren: Jacqueline Hinz; Jonah and Niklas Bartsch, Rodney (Rachael) Hinz; Ella & Spencer, Glen Hinz. Marilyn’s brothers and sisters: Sharon (Sheldon) Carson, Joyce (Reuben) Neufeld, Marcy (Dwayne) Mooney, Dorothy (Howard) Schultz, Beth Baerg, Delphine (Eldon) Neufeld, Wes (Diana) Baerg, Toby (Karen) Baerg and their families. Art was predeceased by his parents Cornelius & Mary Lepp, brothers Henry & Paul, sisters Mary Janzen and Luella (Henry) Krahn.

The family wishes to acknowledge Spruce Manor staff for all the care you gave Art. Your special attention in the last years and especially the last week of his life went far beyond any of our expectations. Thank you for the love, attention and compassion you gave Art in his last days.

The Memorial Service will be by invitation only on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at Dalmeny Community Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 600 45th Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5W9. Arrangement entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home 306-254-2022.

When words are most empty, tears are most apt. The song is ended but the memory lingers on. May you find His peace and comfort in the days and months ahead. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.
