Barry Darroch
October 3, 1944 – May 4, 2021
Barry Edward Darroch passed away May 4, 2021, at St. Paul’s Hospital Saskatoon. He reached the age of 76 years.
Barry was born in Dauphin Manitoba, to Walter Darroch and Mattie Lozowski. He was baptized on May 10, 1945, according to the Rites of the Ukrainian Greek-Orthodox Church.
Barry’s Family moved to Alberta, settling in Calgary, and there receiving his education, thus becoming a geophysicist , he was employed in the Oil industry of Alberta, which also took him to Libya for a few years. For a number of years had his own business in the oil industry.
Barry married Ann Braun in Calgary April 03, 1976.
Barry’s interests were golfing, reading, curling, playing poker.
When Barry and Ann retired, Barry said, “I must bring Ann back home to her Family,” thus moving to Saskatchewan.
Barry was a man of precision, recipes had to followed exactly, cakes, pies had be cut perfectly. Building a fence when done was straight and level. Building a deck, every cut had to be perfect.
Barry leaves to mourn his wife Ann, his son Mathew, and sister Vivian, and Ann’s family; sister-in-law Lee Braun, Marge (Frank) Bueckert, Marlene and Russell, Kelly and Rosanne, Daryl and Loretta, Bronson, Janea, Kaeden. George (Anna) Braun, Nathan and Alanna. Jake (Brenda) Braun, Jana.
Barry was predeceased by his parents, his son Kyle, his brother-in-law Ron Silvers, and his brother-in-law John Braun.
In the last years Barry had many health issues, the last was covid, heart attack alongside failing kidneys.
Thank You every one for your prayers and support, Please continue to pray for his wife Ann while she continues to be in the hospital with covid, on a ventilator.
A private invite only Funeral will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Blumenthal Cemetery.
