Peter P. Wiebe
March 26, 1949- February 26, 2021
Peter P. Wiebe was born to Isaac and Elizabeth (Peters) Wiebe on March 26, 1949. He grew up on a dairy farm near Blumenheim. He spent a few years working in the city, and then started his own construction/framing business. In 1976, he got some land near Gruenfeldt and started up a dairy farm. He was baptized in Reinfeld Bergthaler Mennonite Church on May 30,1971. He married Edna Niessen on July 28,1979, and they raised two daughters: Janice and Maureen.
Work on the farm was something dad always enjoyed, swathing and bringing in the harvest were a couple of the favourite jobs no one could take his position on. Owning the dairy farm for many years allowed us girls to enjoy the pleasures of owning animals which included laps full of kittens at times, and help with raising our own chicks and calves.
Dad loved to travel and was always ready for a road trip. He had a sense of adventure that couldn’t be quenched and was always ready for the next one. One of dad’s favourite hobbies was woodworking. He made full bedroom sets for his daughters and went on to build beautiful pieces of furniture. Along with building furniture he helped build the first house for each daughter. Dad had an ear for music and many Sunday afternoons you would catch him playing a tune by ear on the organ or piano as well as some guitar.
Dad’s health was doing well. Then on February 26, 2021 he passed away suddenly from a massive brain bleed.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 41 years, Edna (Niessen) Wiebe; daughters, Janice (Andy) Wiebe, and Maureen (Dave) Elmer; brothers and sisters, Betty (Abe) Buhler, William (Olga) Wiebe, John (Frieda) Wiebe, Isaac (Mary) Wiebe, Henry (Helen) Wiebe, Mary (Corny) Buhler, Jake (Elizabeth) Wiebe, Martin (Marlene) Wiebe, Lena (Jerry) Lazaroff; mother-in-law Maria Niessen; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Jim (Linda) Niessen, Margaret (Peter) Danabassis, Ann Adrian, Joe (Kathy) Niessen, Irene Niessen, Walter (Sharon) Niessen, June (Mark) Ens, Noah (Sandra) Niessen, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Elizabeth Wiebe, father-in-law William Niessen, and brother-in-law Ben Adrian.
Dad, we will miss you dearly – we love you.

To Mrs Edna Wiebe & Family So Sorry For your Great Loss Yea though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me Thy Rod staff thy staff thy comfort
Our heartfelt condolences to you, Edna and your family on your loss of Peter.
Dona and I certainly feel privileged to have met and visited with you both on
your stop in Belleville, ON a couple of years ago. I found Peter to be so down
to earth and easy to talk to that I can see where our new ‘family’ member,
Maureen, gets her pleasing demeanor.
R-I-P, Peter
I have never met your father Maureen, and only met your mother once on one of her trips to the island, but the love you shared as a family was very evident in the way you talked about them, your sister included! Prayers for you and your family and may your Saskatchewan time be blessed with an abundance of good memories as you hang out with loved ones under the big open sky and prairie vistas of home sweet home.
Our condolences to you Edna and family.God is still the God for all your comfort! Always enjoyed meeting Peter, what a kind hearted soul.❤️
Edna our condolences go out to you and your family. May God give you strength at this time and through the days ahead.
So sad for you Edna, and family. God is our refuge and strength, in this sad time.
Praying for you and your family. George and Verna Froese
Although I do not know you Edna or your daughters, your dad was my first cousin and it was so good to be able to watch the service online here in Regina. May the Lord comfort you all and give you His peace. We will meet again. Such a precious promise for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Edna,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. We enjoyed meeting you two on our Maritime bus trip.
