We remember with fondness, our association with Wilma at Dalmeny Seniors. She was always pleasant and willingly did more than her share of the work. Her sunny disposition and willingness to help anyone in need challenged all of us. She was a faithful servant and is now resting in the hands of her Saviour.

Wilma was a very fine first-grade teacher when I was the principal of Martensville Elementary School in the 1960s and 1970s. Her best line to remember is, “I have been teaching First Grade for a dozen years, and the kids still cannot read when they enrol every September” – Jake Buhler

My sincere condolences to the Schmidt family. I have the fondest memories of Wilma from when we each taught a grade one class at Ashley Park School in Swift Current 1962-66. She was a most dedicated teacher and friend. When making the decision to buy a new sewing machine, I wanted my treasured first sewing machine to have a good home so chose Wilma to have it. I wish I had kept in touch with her, and many more colleagues. Life gets too busy. God bless my wonderful friend.

My deepest sympathies to all the families involved. It is sad for those left to mourn but I am sure she is rejoicing in heaven.

Thank you, Wilma, for putting together the Schmidt Family Registry for the reunion of the Henry and Tobias Schmidt descendants in 1985. It is a useful genealogy book, and I refer to it often

I first met Wilma Scmitdt in November, 1994 at the Sharon Schools in North Battleford. It was my first visit to western Canada as a South American minister. She displayed a winning smile, she uttered kind words and displayed a generous spirit. She will be missed but better off in the loving arms of Jesus. Condolences to her family and friends. Our prayers are with you.
