Maria (Mary) Harder

July 25, 1930 – January 17, 2020

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Maria Harder (Mom), age 89, of Saskatoon. Maria was born to Johan and Katherina Peters on July 25, 1930.  She was born in the area of Schoenwiese, SK.  John Harder (Dad) met Mom in 1954 and in 1956 they were married.  Sons followed beginning in 1959 and as the years passed a grandchild.  Maria was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother who always put us ahead of herself. Maria was admitted to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital on Monday, December 30, 2019 where she received very good care. Mom passed peacefully Friday, January 17^th, with her “boys” bedside.  She is survived by three sons, Larry, Ken and Jim (Danuta); and granddaughter Melaney.  Maria was predeceased by her husband, John Harder, both her parents, her four sisters and seven brothers. At Mom’s request a private service was held.  In lieu of flowers the family appreciates donations in support of the Close to Home Campaign for Hospice and End of Life Care through the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
