Mom was born in Hepburn, the 4th child, 20 minutes before her twin sister. Mom loved being a twin. She grew up on the family farm where she worked hard but remembered it with great fondness. Mom asked Jesus into her heart at a young age. She loved singing and playing the piano in their local church. In 1953, while working as a cook at Bethany Bible College, she met our dad. The way to Dad’s heart was through his stomach and they were soon married on October 10, 1954.
They started their life together in Hazleton BC, but soon after moved to Dalmeny and then to Saskatoon. Together they had 61 wonderful years working and serving joyfully for the Lord. Dad may have built their homes, but Mom ran them. They were an awesome team.
Mom loved God, her family and her church family and talked about Jesus every chance she got. Mom especially loved her role as grandma and made all her grandchildren feel loved and special. She prayed for them and many others daily.
In her last years Mom suffered from the effects of Alzheimer’s. She was loved and will be deeply missed. Our family would like to thank Bethany Manor and Sherbrooke Staff for their amazing kindness and care.
