On the morning of August 24, 2016. three days short of his 97th birthday, Henry Thiessen passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. Henry was born at Mennon, Saskatchewan. His education began at Queensland School and was followed by one year at Tabor Bible School in Dalmeny, SK. He married Mary Rempel and together they farmed and raise their family in the Lanham area. Henry loved farming. Seeding and harvest were times of hard work but fruitful accomplishments. He will be fondly remembered for his love and concern for others, and his unwavering faith in his Lord and Saviour. He was often described as a ‘giant among men’. Henry is survived by his children Ernie (Carol), Juliana (Ken), Harvey (Darlene), Milton (Virginia), Terry (Nicole), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held at Dalmeny Funeral Home, 139 3rd Street, Dalmeny, SK on Friday, August 26, at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Langham Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Henry’s life will be held at the Langham Evangelical Bible Church, 47-5th Avenue, Langham, SK on Saturday, August 27, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Langham Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery Project.
